Cardiac MR–CT image registration
This project maps patient cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) information into patient CT coordinates. CMR and CT describe complementary tissue and anatomical information, but different image geometry and incomplete coverage make direct comparison difficult. A template bridge and local refinement connect the two image spaces.
Inputs and outputs
The workflow uses patient CMR, patient CT and reference anatomy. It produces CT-space cardiac image content and structural overlays for inspection in the virtual cath lab. Intensity images and labels require different interpolation rules. Acquired patient content, interpolated content and template context have different provenance and should remain distinguishable.
My contribution
My work includes coordinate and spacing consistency, transform direction and composition, template selection, local refinement, output replay and application integration. Saved transforms and run information support checking how each displayed result was obtained rather than relying only on a visually convincing overlay.
How to interpret the results
The existing project records include component experiments and historical patient runs. Component overlap scores are not equivalent to end-to-end patient MR–CT registration accuracy. Completion of an application workflow also does not prove anatomical correctness; patient-level assessment and deformation checks remain important.
